KEN NEWLON, CANTON MCKINLEY
1987 RECIPIENT
Ken Newlon was Head Boys Basketball Coach for 34 years. His overall record was 527 - 227, winning nine District Championships and two Regional Championships. He spent twenty years as the Head Coach of Canton Lincoln and five years as the Head Coach of Canton McKinley. Coach Newlon earned the State Coach of the Year in 1980-81 and coached the North-South All-Star Game in 1967. He had two undefeated regular season teams (Strasburg 1955-56 and Canton McKinley in 1980-81). Coach Newlon currently resides in Massillon, Ohio.
